Sonny Bonomo has had a personal shop while working for some of Utah’s finest collision centers for the past 27 years. Growing up, he was very intrigued by the entire collision repair process and, inspired by his older brother Phil, began working in the industry at the age of 12 years old.

At only 19 years of age, Sonny was one of Utah’s youngest journeymen painters at a collision repair facility. He has had the privilege to be the painter of eight vehicles awarded the “Utah’s Finest” award, has won dozens of Best Paint awards, as well as other outstanding paint awards.

Sonny and his brother have a simple philosophy when it comes to complete refinish and restoration projects: One at a time, work on it until it is completed.

Customers often comment, “Every time I come over your working on MY car,” or, “So much has been done since I saw my car last.” Bonomo’s Automotive Paint Works often gets vehicles that were in other shops for months and years because the vehicles sit while the shop collects money and little work is being done.

In addition, Sonny invites his customers to be involved and make choices on their projects. He does not charge a prohibitive minimum starting cost or excessive labor rates. Sonny does, however, provide some of the highest quality finishes and finished products in Utah and neighboring states.

Sonny made a choice a few years ago to work exclusively under his own name and he and his brother have a combined 75 years experience in auto refinishing, restoration, and industrial finishes.
